Hey, another great show, Rob & Tom!
Like all of the other Conan comics, I didn’t really follow Conan the King, alias King Conan – I do recall reading the first issue, which I most likely borrowed from a pal who was really into Conan. Now it’s a series I wouldn’t mind giving another look, esp. given your conservation and the pages posted on the gallery page.
Otherwise, I have to say for my part that at the age of about 12 or 13 I probably would have picked up on the innuendo in those panels in both stories, but not because I so sophisticated or knowledgeable in such things at that age, but because at that point I was devouring the Conan prose books (in a way I never did the comics) that included both Howard’s original stories and the newer material by L. Sprague de Camp and Lin Carter, which often had racier scenes involving the women Conan encountered. Yeah, I was probably too young to be reading those…
On the topic of Conan and other denizens of the Hyborian Age encountering modern heroes in cross-over stories, I really can’t say I have a firm opinion on it, but I will say that Marvel Team-up #79, i.e., the one with Red Sonja, is my single favorite issue of that series.
I’ve read some Conan I don’t care for him I like Solomon Kane the best .

Rob! I owned this comic! I think my father bought it at a garage sale or some such.
First off, the Black Dragons were always cool. But how does a ninja factor into that time? So strange, but awesome. I can’t help but wonder how much this title was like a soap opera. I guess it was the romantic entanglements that were broader than just who Conan slept with that issue.
Another great job! Just like that last Conan magazine you covered with that rakishly handsome guest!
Impressive podcast most impressive. Ah Conan king . I had a later issue of this comic. Ware Conan finds out about the guard and his daughter. Any he wants to go make the young man into a foot stool. But his wife was trying to talk Conan out of it. The daughter is all sad panda in her room and yep she’s preggers. Still this was a fun story.
Ah Conan was not impressed his daughter’s suitor. Then again most dad’s aren’t. Granted I only met one of the parents of a woman I was dating parents. And none of the men’s parents that I dated. Ah well. And that one didn’t go well. There’s a reason I have black sheep 4?life tattooed on my back.
Anyway yep it was Connan fighting still it’s just he’s a king. Also his wife tried to calm him about the guard whom their daughter had a child with. Then she talked to the daughter, not as ok with it all but still there for their child. Who is having a child. Next story sounds fun. Wait tgeir all in love then he kills himself after he’s rescued. And his l lady wants to sleep with Connan’s son right after…. Oy.
As for the “ water melon” breasts hey I got a d cup ware a size 12 dress and at one time a size 34 in men’s pants. And though I am trans. They’re just from the pills. No cosmetic work done. So yeah this gal can have been so blessed. Her back May go put by the Time she’s 30, but it happens. Or she can do a ton of yoga Like I have to.
Anyway moving on ah so Conan has a 3 rd child cool. Didn’t see him in the books but cool . Though I haven’t read them all. The ones I did Like Phoenix in the sword were great and this stop sees cool too. Can’t wait to see ware it goes. The art is good as is the story telling. While my favorite Connan artist is Boris V. This guy is pretty good too.
Oh it’s the Cyber guy from image comics. Cool. I liked top cow comics back in the day. Witch blade as a show. And Cyber force as a comic. Wait Rob doesn’t mention Joe Kubert in this podcast Oy are you feeling ok? Is Rob sick did he get replaced by a replacent? Or is this a Skrull invasion? Afghan lol I kid. Can’t wait for the next episode,
