  1. I could swear there was some previous episode where Cliff and Norm did something similar to the “pair point” at a beautiful woman, but darned if I can find it. I’m thinking of them doing a sonar “boo-boo-boop” to narrow in and then stop. That’s all I can recall, so it’s probably senility settling in.

The “half Melvin”. The lesson there is never turn your back on Carla.

I hadn’t thought about it before, but the idea of Claudia being attracted to Diane is very plausible now that you say it. I’d think it was more spur of the moment, but sure puts a different spin on the episode, especially Diane’s “get me out of this.”

    Great coverage, Ryan and Gene.

    1. Since my brain works the way it does, I went and found some pictures of the exteriors of the actual Cheers, such as this one.

      https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/c_crop,h_1349,w_2400,x_0,y_125/f_auto,q_auto,w_1100/v1597936479/shape/mentalfloss/2565606238_4537daca7e_o.jpg

Looking at that, the top of the “basement” level windows are above street-level. I’m going to speculate that the windows in the bathrooms would also be positioned, due to the fire code, so that they were also at street level, or even in a window well. So, it might not be EASY to get out of them, but it would be possible. Hypothetically.

      1. It’s just that Sam’s office looks in the way, and that deep in the background is a stairwell to the restaurant upstairs.

I know there have been scenes set in the men’s bathroom… can we check to see if there are windows?

  2. Good. Now find a way to make sense of the pool room, which seems to have multiple stained glass windows, possibly on multiple walls, which would indicate it’s the corner of the building, but the windows start midway up the wall, despite the bar being below street level. Also, is there a window on the wall directly facing the hallway leading into the bar, which would make that window parallel to the front door, which would mean that Cheers runs the entire length of the building proper?

    1. The best I can do there is figure that they’re false windows. Frame out a deeper opening in the wall, put some lights in it, and then put the stained glass over them. Trick people into thinking that they aren’t underground.
