  1. You mentioned guest star Chip Zien (last name rhymes with “line”) in this episode and his lack of credits on IMDB. He’s a Broadway guy and was in the original cast of Into the Woods with Bernadette Peters among other things. You’ve mentioned writer Ken Levine’s (last name also rhymes with “line”) podcast where he occasionally talks about Cheers. One of his podcast episodes he interviews Chip Zien if you’re interested in hearing about that.

  2. Problematic as it plays now, I still endlessly enjoy Frasier’s obsession with Diane. Knowing he won’t get over it fully until later in “Frasier” it doesn’t bother me when it pops up in this era of “Cheers”. Of course it will largely fall away during the Rebecca years only to come roaring back in the finale. This was also a nice, sincere look into Norm’s feelings for Vera.

  3. If there’s a weakness in this episode, it’s the Frasier part of it, which seems plugged into it. The Norm stuff was great. I especially like how it’s once again apparent here that Vera gives as good as she gets, as when she leaves him hanging on the phone as a joke.

Though I’d love to think she “didn’t fit in with the wives” because she was too sarcastic, it’s probably (and this isn’t really spelled out in the episode) that the boss’ wife said that so that her lover would get the job.
