  1. This is my favorite sitcom. Period. I can’t wait!!!!

Did Dianne every wear fishnets? Oh, but Carla, oh yeeaaaahhhh….

  2. I watched M*A*S*H in syndication when I was a kid, and I owned a bunch of the action figures, but I didn’t carry enough interest or affection for the show into adulthood to motivate my listening to a podcast about it. I did watch most of the run of Frasier in syndication, and despite enjoying that show at the time, I’d pretty much burned through my interest in the process of viewing the run. Also, Kelsey Grammar.

I’ve probably made it through a few dozen episodes of Cheers, sporadically and half-hardheartedly. My eyes had a heart attack over Shelly Long in Night Shift, and I even saw Outrageous Fortune theatrically, but I never could stand Diane Chambers. Only in recent years have I come around on Ted “Hot Dog Down A Hallway” Danson, but never Sam Malone. I took many years before I gave Woody Harrelson half a chance, though I like him today. I actively despise John Ratzenberger, and my tolerance for George Wendt runs about half the length of his SNL spots. My favorite Kirstie Alley project was the Tom Selleck sci-fi vehicle Runaway. Rhea Perlman was married to Danny DeVito, so that’s something.

All this is to say I wish the best for F&W’s TV podcasts. Find your joy. Call me if you need a co-host for The Other Final Frontier: A Mad About You Podcast, and I’ll happily listen to Night Court Court. I’m sure I’m in the minority in changing the dial on these stalwart programs.

  3. Good luck on the new show! I was a big Cheers fan during the original run but stopped watching soon after Shelley Long left. It seemed to me that the series lost something integral when she left. Kirstie Alley’s Rebecca was never as fun. One of my favorite Cheers moments was when they did the crossover with St. Elsewhere. Now that’s a show deserving a podcast! See what you guys started?

FYI Kelsey Grammer is rumored to be heading to the Doom Patrol TV series.

    1. Great trailer, loved Cheers. I actually thought Kirstie Alley refreshed things nicely. I know about the crossovers, but this is new to me – a mini-episode to sell war bonds or something?

      1. I’ll probably cover that mini episode as well as a special scene that was attached to the Super Bowl in ’83 as special episodes, maybe between seasons 1 and 2.
