  1. I look forward to listening to this episode ASAP as I just visited Venice earlier this summer on a 2 week tour of Italy. All I can say is that it’s one of those cities that you must (if at all possible) visit. It’s unlike any place else I’ve ever been. Also, FYI Katherine Hepburn’s clothes/costumes were donated several years ago to Kent State University & there is an exhibit currently running. If you are anywhere near OH be sure to visit it!
    Ciao!

  2. I haven’t heard of this film, but having listened to you two talk about it, I need to point Cindy toward this. She loves Hepburn, and this has a Roman Holiday vibe it seems, and you know she loves that film!

We think of Darren McGavin as Ralphie’s Old Man or Karl Kolchak, but he had quite the career before and after. I visited my Dad last week and he was watching an Audie Murphy western on the Grit channel. There was McGavin as a sarcastic, grizzled gunfighter!

Fun episode, and I’m definitely going to look this film up for a “date night” viewing!

  3. Despite being the most awarded actress in Academy Award history (4 Oscars), Hepburn only attended the ceremony once. Also, if you’ve never seen her legendary Dick Cavett interview be sure to do so. She comes to check out the studio and spontaneously moving the furniture so they just start.
