FW Presents: ANT-MAN’S BIG CHRISTMAS

FIND YOUR JOY TO THE WORLD!

On this special holiday episode, Ryan Daly and Kyle Benning (from King-Size Comics, Giant-Size Fun) share a Christmas adventure so small you can fit it in your stocking! In ANT-MAN'S BIG CHRISTMAS, the two tiny Avengers, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne have to save a young boy's Christmas, not from Kang the Conqueror or the Masters of Evil, but from his own terrible relatives. No holiday wish is too small for Ant-Man and the Wasp, and no Christmas comic is too sappy for Ryan and Kyle!

  1. First I’ve ever heard of this; based on your overview and comments, sounds like a fun book – I’ll definitely keep an eye out for it. The art samples you provided certainly confirm that it’s a gorgeous looking book in any case – and I don’t just mean the panels with Jan changing into her nightie. Winslade otherwise also did the six-issue Howard the Duck Max series for Marvel in 2002.
By the way, I have to wonder – since Ryan pointed out the similarity – if the bit with the toy train in fact inspired the epic fight scene in the Ant Man movie.
Thanks for the show, gentlemen, and enjoy your holidays.

  2. Janet Van Dyne was always one of the more sex positive characters in the MCU, and while if handled badly that could come off all wrong, I always found it a charming aspect of her character. Phil Winslade’s art is quite nice here, I think I first heard of him when he did an issue or two AQUAMAN: SWORD OF ATLANTIS.

Like the comments above, I never knew this book existed, the comics world needs more holiday-centric one-shots!

  3. Never read this one, but I was very aware of it. Came out when I still had my shop, when Marvel Knights still pushed sales, and when I thought Phil Winslade was going to have a bigger career. Regardless, I ordered light because it was a holiday special starring Ant-Man, and was happy to sell out. Winslade never could keep up with the intricacy that made Goddess so late, and was a might too British to cross over into more mainstream work, so Chris Weston ended up with his career (despite being rather British himself.)
