Colan must have been a car guy. I remember Penguin making an escape in a C2 Corvette in a 1980s Detective issue. I always thought the C2 and C3 Corvettes were the most beautiful cars ever.
Thanks for another splendid episode, Mac is always a tonic to hear. Boy, Colan is so good. The entire art job looks great, I’ve no problem with the Giacoia inks, I love the look of the issue, and Grey Gargoyle is one of my favourite Marvel villains – that moustache is hilarious. My essential Colan Iron Man shot is the cover of Iron Man #1, in which his legs are spread so far they’re in different states.

Listening now, but I remember The State, and “Two-hundred and forty dollas worth of puddin’!” is often times mentioned in regards to money at the Franklin household if Smokey and the Bandit’s “Eighty-Thousand Dollars” isn’t mentioned first. The other skit I remember involves balls, and dipping them into things.
I think I like Giacoa on Colan here. It’s still very much Gene, but he “reins” in his ethernalness a bit, which I find better for straight superhero action.
