    1. I know I normally go on about MASHcast, but I’ll just echo what Chris said — great interview and charming, informative guest. Well done!

  1. What a treat! As much as I love the super detailed beat-for-beat episode analysis that most MASHcasts stick to, it’s nice to break away from that format a bit and get an inside perspective on the bigger picture of how the show was made. And there were still plenty of fun details to go around of course. (Side note: the knowledge that “A Night at Rosie’s” was a last minute script they knocked out in a weekend is insane to me, that’s one of my favorite episodes from my personal favorite season. Mind blown.)

Thank you Rob for a cool conversation with a great guest appearance! Looking forward to more.

  2. Great episode Rob, always impressed with your balancing act of fan and interviewer, you pull it off with skill and grace. As a fan of Ken’s podcast and blog, it was fun to hear him go in depth on this particular episode and also sprinkle in some of his memories and opinions on the show, Gene Reynolds and his partnership with Davis Isaacs. I too was a geek who noticed the names of the writers, the medical advisor, the producers, so I can understand your wonder and excitement in getting to interact with some of the people who created this legendary show. Keep up the great work, and thanks for the wonderful content!

  3. Another great episode and another great interview Rob! Incredible!

I love this episode, especially the baseball sequence which has (as you said) a sort of Vaudevillian feel to it. I love how they keep looking at each other incredulously when someone goes off the rails (like Goulash or the mystery contact). I giggle my way through that whole scene every single time.

Also, it was great to hear the behind the scenes origins of the scripts etc. I can’t believe it was harder to get a joke through The Jeffersons!

  4. Before becoming an actor, Ronald Reagan was a baseball announcer and would “broadcast” games through a reproduction like was done in this episode.

Enjoyed hearing an inside view of how the episode was made. Hope you can have him (or other people who worked on the set) on again to give us their perspective of an episode.

  5. Love this episode. So interesting to hear Ken talk about that one line that he gets asked about often from this episode. ( referring to the rain and how it sounds similar to sizzling meat on a grill ). If there was one line that particularly stands out for me for this episode it is the same one! I’m not sure why it has stuck with me all these years, I guess it is such a great perception, and very interested to note they tweeked it around and had some alternatives before settling on it. Love hearing this episode, thank you guys
