  1. Fabulous show Rob! You and Loretta have great chemistry together. Here’s to hoping she returns and maybe you can get lucky on get other cast members to be on the show as well.

  2. Terrific show and a great “get” for a guest, Rob. Having grown up watching MASH it was awesome to hear her insights into the behind the scenes direction and cast member contributions that made the show such a success.

  3. Congrats! I had a suspicion months ago that you might have nabbed this stellar interview by an offhand comment you made on an old episode. Glad it all worked out so well! This is truly one of the landmark episodes of the series.
    Now, start calling Nurse Kellye!!

  4. That was a fantastic episode, and with such a great guest on what must be the MASH character with the most character development and story arc. I love her comments on the problems of making Margaret smarter and Frank dumber.

  5. Simply fantastic! I was so happy for Rob when I heard Loretta would be on the show, and it turned out perfectly. She was fun and full of interesting stories and insights about the specific TV episode, as well as the general growth of Margaret’s character. Hearing that she personally helped shape that direction was wonderful to hear. Just a joy from beginning to end.

Here’s hoping a repeat is possible, but even if not, all the kudos, Rob!

  6. Great, great episode, Rob! Margaret Houlihan is my favorite character on M*A*S*H, and it’s a treat to hear Loretta Swit herself talk about how she and the writers developed her growth. Wonderful job, Rob!

    Also, #releasethecoopercut!

  7. This episode kind of went past me when I first saw it. The later episode, The Nurses, made me really respect the Major’s professionalism. She had a lot of great episodes — the one where they evacuated all the patients they could, but she stayed because not every patient left; the one where the Mash went to a cave with all the patients and the one you covered last — the one where Margaret and Hawkeye were the last medics standing.

Loretta Swit was a good guest and what’s called ‘a good get’ for you. I’m sending a contribution to her signature charity.
