  1. One note on Lady Loki (you knew I couldn’t resist): Yes, those are boobs, but they’re Sif’s boobs as Loki was just possessing the body of Sif in order to mess with Thor.

I also find it really amusing that the ladies said the new Mad Dog looks like a rat because my daughter, when jokingly insulting our dog, calls him a rat. 🙂

With the comments on the Mandarin’s robe, now I hear him saying either “Why didn’t somebody tell me my ass was so big?” or “Welcome to Flavortown, Iron Man!” 😀

(As I don’t drink myself, the virgin drink compliment works really well for me. 😉 )

  2. This was totally fun, everyone! I do enjoy the follow up episodes, whether the ladies are drinking or not. Since I always listen to you while I work, I wasn’t able to partake in any potent potables, but I will raise a glass to the ladies and Siskoid tonight! One of the drinks I’ve been enjoying lately is Rebel Vodka from Kelowna (not a sponsor) mixed with any pop. The vodka is actually made from apples and mixes really well. My choice of pop lately has been Grape from the Pop Shoppe (also not a sponsor). This episode is making me thirsty!

Knight, Misty – Was hot, is hot, will always be hot.

The Leader – From phallic head to testicle head. Not a great upgrade. Maybe he’s trying to compensate for something?

Lightmaster – I think I actually like the older version better, in all it’s Amish beard glory!

Machinesmith – I’ve really enjoyed any of his recent appearances with this robot looking body. He has a great biting sense of humour. I find it hilarious he designed his face plate to have little horns where his crazy eyebrows and chin hairs would be. I mean, he’s a robot, he could designed his head to look like anything, but I guess the facial hair is his branding?

Mad-Dog – Speaking of guys putting in the effort to paint their fingernails, I miss Mad-Dog’s painted nails.

Magik – Though I am a fan of Magik, her recent look has always struck me as somebody’s S&M fantasy. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Marrina – This new look strikes me as an Avril Lavigne knock off and I’m all for it! I had no idea she was in modern comics. I need to seek those out!

Marvel Girl – I know there’s a lot of ’90’s orange and blue fans, but I think she looks her best in anything green (Marvel Girl or Phoenix). But so hot, no matter what!

Mister Fear – Chris Franklin is right! That has got to be Phantasm!

What a fantastic compliment, Shotgun! Thank you! I hope I give you (and the rest of the ladies) the strength and that’s not just the alcohol talking. All of you definitely give me the strength to get through the work day!

This was tons of fun, everyone! Keep up the great work!

  3. I love this show. I don;t even care about the characters being reviewed anymore! My overall impression of the updates that you shared is that the colors get duller, and the silhouettes get boring. For instance, Misty Knight: feminine body, afro= recognizable in silhouette. Loki: curved horns on headpiece=recognizable in silhouette. Even Jean Grey, as Marvel Girl: short skirt, pointy mask; as Phoenix: distinctive sash = recognizable in silhouette. The updates? Pah.
At the end of every OHOTMU someone says “we love you.” Thank you so much for that. That’s my favorite part!

  4. Hot Squad! Great show as always, but even more so with so much material to talk about. I generally agreed with your analysis. I have my own pictures of live action Misty Knight (a more flattering photo, I think) and The Mandarin (golfing outfit) I’d like to come back and post, if I get around to it.

Regarding the Leader, I have a pretty large cranium myself, and I don’t consider myself a villain. Demographically, however, I’m a white, heterosexual, cisgender male affiliated with America’s military industrial complex. We never think we’re the villains, but the opinions of others vary widely. 😉

  5. Pretty sure Jean Grey is my #2 Marvel crush. Of all the looks, the 90s version is my least favorite. Definitely know that I love the Phoenix looks, the green skirt/wonky yellow mask look, and the trench coat/New Xmen Morrison look.

But I swoon for Jean. Glad I got to hear the girls’ thoughts on all these different looks.

Love this show. And love these ‘other costumes’ shows.
