One response to “Pod Dylan #196 – Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I’ll Go Mine)

  1. It occurred to me when the Johnny Mercer song got mentioned that the parenthetical is what you say to yourself. ‘One for my baby’ is what you say aloud but ‘and one more for the road’ is better left unsaid. Same thing with saying to another ‘Most likely you go your way’ but leaving left unsaid ‘and I’ll go mine.’ You can stand strong with the kissoff, but less so when you realize you’ve let your side down, too.
