  1. Hi, Rob!

I think Amy’s episode may just be my favorite ever Pod Dylan episode! When she got to the Offenbach piece at about the 21 minute mark…WOW! THIS is just another reason why Pod Dylan is such a treasure.

I think this just shows again Bob’s mastery of the folk idiom, borrowing tunes from (relatively) obscure bits and pieces of the musical landscape. He’s a musical magpie genius. Loved, Loved LOVED Amy’s answer to your question about Bob’s singing and her interaction with her colleagues on the topic.

  2. Great podcast guesting skills, Amy! First soften Rob up with the classical clips, then deliver the unexpected Tony Garnier bombshell! Rob is such a prolific podcaster, it’s rare to hear him silenced in disbelief! Truly an outstanding episode, and to discuss an incredible moving recent masterpiece of a song too! Thank you both for a thoroughly enjoyable hour of listening.

PS – I listened to the episode and then the song whilst at the gym, and I discovered that “I’ve Made Up My Mind To Give Myself To You” is the perfect tempo to do abdominal crunches to. Probably not what Bob had in mind as he licked the lead of his pencil to jot down his vision, but it was really helpful to me!
