Congrats on reaching this milestone episode. My Dylan knowledge is relatively scant but it’s nice to hear two fans who so genuinely appreciate an artist’s work.
It’s always nice to be able to follow an artist over their entire career & see the evolution of the work and the various connections. For me, those people are Frank Sinatra in terms of music & Woody Allen in film. You see themes emerge that might not be apparent at first blush.
I don’t consider any song on Blonde on Blonde as filler. Most Likely You Go Your Way is one of my top 25 Dylan songs. I just love the harmonica on Obviously Five Believers. I am guessing that Charlie McCoy is playing harmonica on that cut. George Harrison play Absolutely Sweet Marie at the 30th anniversary concert in 1992.
Regarding the question “If you had the chance to ask Dylan anything what would it be?” I WOULDN’T ask a musical question. I am so intrigued by how he lives, I don’t know where he lives or who he lives with. Does he make his own bed, does he cook for himself, does he iron his own shirts? Or does he have an army of servants? Does he paint doors, put up shelves, change lightbulbs? Does he sit on the sofa with a beer to watch the football? I’d love to be a fly on the wall of the Bob household for a day.
For what it’s worth, I do make my own bed but have never ironed a shirt. That’s just a disaster waiting to happen.
