  1. I know I mentioned it in some post or another involving Rob but I have to say, my introduction to this song was a cover by a duo, Heaven & Earth (Pat Gefell and Jo D. Andrews[Discogs]) on their only album, Refuge (1973). It’s so hard to find any information about them at all but that album has always stuck with me as one of my favorites.

  2. Hi Guys,

Just a bit of clarification on the Elvis Presley version of the song. It was included as a bonus song on the Spinout soundtrack, but it was never intended for the movie. Elvis recorded Tomorrow Is a Long Time at the recording session that produced his How Great Thou Art album.

Elvis often had two or three songs that were recorded at other sessions as “bonus” songs on the movie soundtracks. Half of the Clambake soundtrack is “bonus” material and there are some killer tunes on it. Listening to the bonus songs mixed with the soundtrack is like you’re not even listening to the same guy. I think 1966-67 was around the time that Elvis was getting sick of the movie songs and getting the itch to record “real” material again. The 1968 comeback special didn’t happen in a vacuum and Elvis has some great recordings in 1966 and 67 if you know where to look for them.

Sorry about all that….I realized this is Pod Dylan and not Elvis Pod-sley, but I’m a huge Elvis fan.

      1. I’d certainly listen to Elvis Podsley, but I don’t think you would want me to do the show. Trust me. I sound like Jethro from the Beverly Hillbillies.
