  1. Officially jealous. Wish I could compare notes, but I my “collectables” are random smatterings of things (“Hey look, a Corrinthean bust from Sandman, almost all the female figures from Disney Infinity, and… um… is that Spawn with wings?”) and never focused enough to be worth showing off. That’s ok, I’ve still got my Wonder Woman cosplay to fall back on!

I also have to say, I really laughed at that image of the Invisible Jet. Because for a split second my brain read it as a transparent gun (like a sort of Star Trek original series phaser) loaded with Wonder Woman. And now that my brain conjured that, I want a gun that shoots tiny Wonder Women. Take that, The Patriarchy! *Pew pew pew!*

    1. It does look a bit like a Trek phaser! Hey, Hasbro made those “Ricochet Racers” rifles that shot rolling figures of Spider-Man and Captain America in the 70s, so why not?

  2. Great episode C&C Music Factory! I love it when you guys talk toys, you bring such nerdly passion to the topic.

There are Barbie conventions, right? I wonder if, post movie, there won’t be WW conventions that focus on the merchandising/social aspect to the character, aimed at people (read: women) that probably wouldn’t think to set foot at a tradition comic con.

I love that inflatable WW toy in the pic. I miss being able to buy goofy stuff like that.

This episode was a bit frustrating at times, because it felt like every five minutes one of you said a variation on this: “The line consisted of Superman, Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman, and …not Aquaman!”

    1. We’re going to make you sweat till you bleed, is that dope enough? Indeed.

Yes, there are Barbie conventions. From Mattel-sponsored huge international gatherings to simple dealer room hotel shows. And if He-Man/She-Ra, GI Joe and Transformers have their own cons, why not WW?

Sadly, no big boobied Aquaman figure. Although we now know Mattel is making a Mera in the Barbie Justice League movie line. Based on the pictures of her released, they better go with THAT body.

      Chris

  3. Which one is the “big boobies” Wonder Woman? 😉

No, I’m serious. Which one is the “big boobies” Wonder Woman?

  4. Thank you both for another fun episode, and an unexpected trip down memory lane. Seeing Cindy’s Super Jrs. Wonder Woman figure reminded me that the first sleeping bag I ever owned was a Super Jrs. sleeping bag. It had a light blue background and featured little Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, and Robin. I would have gotten it sometime in the late 70s or early 80s. Man that was a sweet sleeping bag, but, even as a kid, I remember wishing that it had included Aquaman.

    1. Cool! You were sleeping in style! That’s one (of many) Super Jrs. items we don’t own. Thanks for sharing!

My first sleeping bag was a Batman and Robin version with Infantino/Anderson art. Batman swinging on a rope and Robin running beneath him, with Gotham in the background. I still have it! Our kids have used it.

      Chris

      1. I’m glad you were able to hold on to your Batman and Robin sleeping bag. Sadly, I don’t know what happened to my Super Jrs. bag, though I have my suspicions. My Mom was generally more of a pitcher rather than a keeper when it came to things that were no longer being used. Thankfully, she did keep my old Star Wars figures for me.

  5. This episode was so much fun! You could hear the enthusiasm and joy bubbling out of Cindy!! I had no idea there were that many Wonder Woman collectible dolls. Wow! While I don’t know much about dolls and figures, it was fascinating hearing all the ins-and-outs of these cherished toys. Loved the episode!!
