  1. How do physics work in Metropolis? Jimmy Olsen falls off a ladder 10 feet and breaks his leg, but Gus Gorman can ski off a skyscraper fall hundreds of feet to the streets below and walk away without a scratch.

    1. That was totally Jimmy’s fault. He wasn’t in Metropolis city limits when he fell. He clearly forgot that Metropolis physics don’t apply in the rest of the world.

  2. Feel free to judge but this scene of Gus “skiing” down the building was one of the few I remember as a kid (evil Superman and computer lady are the others)……. and it was one I enjoyed. I’m sorry!!! As a kid, we all want to be Superman but, even in our little kid brains, we knew that would never happen. But seeing a regular human with a “cape” doing something miraculous? That was awesome! How did he ever survive that?! That looked kind of fun! Those are the thoughts that went through my dumb little kid brain…. I would agree with you guys now, though. It’s not the best use of this movie’s time.

I’ve really been enjoying all the episodes and you guys have been doing an excellent job! Keep up the great work!

  3. I have to laugh, because to this day I still find myself imitating Richard Pryor (as he’s explaining what has happened) when he pretends to be Superman landing, and “sings” Di Di da DIIIIIIII ! It’s not quite John Williams version but it’s close, and that always made me laugh.
You’re absolutely right about the rest of the scene, though!
    ~Thanks guys.

  4. Gus skiing off the building–funny.
Ross the boss making his chair collapse–funny.
Rob and Chris “suffering” through those gags–entertaining, but probably not funny.

Then again, I am easily amused so what do I know?

  5. Great episode guys! When I saw this in the theater as a kid and Gus skied off the building, I thought Superman would show up and rescue him. Even back then I thought it seemed odd that Gus could survive that fall.

Chris I thought the same thing about how Gus was delivering exposition about Krypton – why would Gus know more about Krypton than the main villains and have to explain it to them. Also it was odd phrasing when Gus said that Krypton “blew up in space” – where else would a planet blow up other than space?

Finally, when Gus programmed the Vulcan weather satellite to find kryptonite, I think he used his office computer – but when he programmed it the first time he went to Smallville so that it wouldn’t be traced back to the company. I’m not sure why he could use his own office computer the second time. Also who knew weather satellites could shoot lasers to other galaxies?
