  1. Quick thoughts… Flyboy’s voice always threw me off, so glad to know there’s a reason he sounds so weird. I always thought he spoke about 2 seconds too long as well. And speaking of… great impersonation, Chris! Clark almost answering the question about Superman’s favorite team always cracks me up. And I always had the same thought that Rob did… General Sam Lane was floating the bill for Lois’ swanky apartment. Sometimes it really pays to be an army brat, I guess. Looking forward to finishing the back 9 with you guys.

    1. You know, General Lane would have been the perfect foil for Lex’s missile code switcheroo. Missed opportunity, but I’m not sure exactly when it was established Lois’ Dad was a general.

  2. Great Caesar’s ghost! I had completely forgotten about Aladdin’s Superman The Movie lunchbox, until Chris mentioned it in this episode. That lunchbox carried my bologna and cheese sandwiches throughout much of my elementary school career. It was also a thing of beauty. I particularly loved the side panels, which depicted various scenes of Krypton and Kal El’s trip to Earth.

FYI, Lois is able to afford that swanky apartment, because she invested heavily in the Metropolis Wig Manufacturing and Retail Company.

    1. In 1980, when I went to kindergarten, I had a choice of lunch boxes: Superman The Movie, or Super Friends. I was VERY torn. But ultimately, I went with Super Friends because it had just about EVERYONE on it, even Green Arrow and Supergirl, who weren’t on much merchandise back then, and weren’t on the Super Friends (I later learned GA was on before my time).

Years later it came to me, the magenta-trimmed Super Friends lunch box with Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl, Catwoman and Kitten (Cheetah’s protege from the SF comic) prominently featured was targeted toward…(GASP!)…GIRLS!!! I was mortified at the thought at the time. Now I think it’s funny.

I still have my childhood SF lunchbox, and now have two of the Superman box, because I love both the front with Supes and the back with the Planet staff so much, I had to display it both ways!

      Chris
