  1. If this happens not only will I thank both of you profusely I will go to every screening.

Because I have never seen this film on the big screen.

I was too young when it first came out and being the youngest of four I had little say in what movies we did go to see. My first big movie experience where I NEEEDED to be there was Return of the Jedi. So this one passed me by. The closest I came was in 1998. There was a Warner Bros. roadshow movie festival that came into Atlanta that summer and I only found out about them showing Superman The Movie two days after it happened.

    Broke my heart.

So I want the Fathom thing to happen.

    Like bad.

  2. I watched about half of the 3-hour cut before calling it a night (I started watching around 10 PM Eastern). You chaps weren’t kidding about the Salkinds being paid by the airtime minute. Great Caesar’s Ghost! There is sooooooo much unnecessary padding in this cut. This cut is certainly the sort of the thing a completist/film scholar would like to see, but I have a hard time believing this is going to be anyone’s go-to version of the film. I personally think Richard Donner’s special edition is a nice compromise between the theatrical and the ABC cuts.
