  1. Don’t know if you still read these. Especially since it’s 11 years later. But I saw several reports that the head of DC and the head of Marvel would play golf together on weekends. DC was riding rather high those days, so the DC guy would brag about how good they were doing.
One time he was bragging about how their new team book JLA was doing. The Marvel guy went back and told his staff he wanted to do a superhero team. After several false starts they came out with Fantastic Four.
Supposedly another time the DC guy mentioned a new book they were doing about a group of misfits with a leader in a wheelchair. The Marvel guy liked the concept so much he ordered his people to do the same thing.
If the story is true then Marvel definitely copied the Doom Patrol with the X-men.

  2. Reportedly Marvel did copy the Xmen from DC. The story goes that the head guys would play golf together. DC was doing very well at the time. Every time the DC guy would brag about how good they were doing Mr. Marvel wpuld rush back to the office and do the same thing. Thats how he decided to copy a successful team book: JLA with his own team book: Fantastic Four. He did the same thing with Xmen when Mr. DC told him about a new book they were doing about a group of misfits with a leader in a wheelchair.
At least thats the story goes.

  3. Great show! As a big ( original) Captain Marvel fan, this particular comic has very special meaning for me as it is probably the very last time that the character would ever get to have his proper marvelous moniker in print on the
COVER of a published ( DC or otherwise ) comic book. * sigh* …so sad… Anyway, keep up all the great work fellas!
