  1. They got me. I marveled at how Shelley Long was lying under the stage floor and how dangerous it seemed.

I was just surprised there were trap doors in it at all!

  2. So Ryan, I’d like your thoughts on this. At first glance, this episode was doing the usual tricks to hide Shelley’s baby bump within the story. But is it possible, that the writers started with “how can we hide the baby bump”, and the story followed?

“Let’s put her in a big coat. Why? Because it’s winter and the bar is cold because … the heat’s out! And then she gets stuck somewhere so we can only see her face. Maybe in the vents under the floor? Ooo, yes!”

It might almost explain why the gags weren’t their in the dialog. The biggest gag was the meta-gag of hiding Shelley from the audience.

Moving on, you and Marlene already hit all of my favorite bits in the episode, but I gotta give an extra nod to how fast Norm and Cliff were moving in the chase scene. My reaction even on rewatches is “Yikes! Cliff, run!” Because a charging Norm Peterson is an intimidating sight.

Always great to hear Marlene again! Wonderful show as always.
