I never thought of this as a stealth Tortellis pilot, but in hindsight that makes a lot of sense. I don’t know if I’d call it successful or not. Although it mostly works because Carla is really the PoV character, not Nick, which was not the dynamic of The Tortellis. (Yes, I did watch the first couple of episodes when they aired. Don’t judge me.)
Couple of favorite bits. Loretta saying “Just last night, I met a head waiter!” And after Carla spits on Nick’s shoes, his response is “I-i-i-it’s a start!”
