1. I’m not familiar with the episode, but it reminded me of the Night Court where Dan becomes intrigued with an elderly lady who claims to have given John Wayne his famous gait. By episode’s end, she is emerging from a storage closet in the courthouse, with Dan trailing behind her, walking like the Duke. Poor Sam never had the chance.

2. I don’t know about on Cape Cod, but there is a “clothing optional” beach on Martha’s Vineyard. After we first moved to the Cape, my wife and (then 4 or 5 year old) daughter unknowingly stumbled upon it, on one of their early day trips to the island. For some reason, they’ve never taken me there, when I’ve accompanied them on later trips.

3. I totally agree, Not Jeff, this episode is a delight from beginning to end. I can’t help but smile as well.

   How about when Lillian’s daughter mentions her portfolio, and Cliff stammers “I’ll give you a thousand dollars for it.” John R’s delivery is fantastic, hungry, desperate, and hilarious.
