Bring a bucket and a mop for this…
The Woody spinoff would have been Veep. There are two versions of it, for whether Woody or Kelly takes the titular office; Woody can be the one sane man in the office as the V.P. or the second spouce/chief of staff. Either way he’s the Kermit here.
I quite like this episode, feels like the show is bouncing back.
As for a Woody spin-off, I don’t know if the “dumb one” can be the star of a show, but it’s possible my only evidence is Joey.
I could see a Woody spin-off post-Cheers as being a new version of “Benson” with Woody in the Governor Gatling role. Fil his supporting staff with a combo of helpful/supportive types and less moral political climbers and you could have a good show.
