“Wait a minute…I ordered two cases of Vermouth yesterday!” is one of the series’ greatest single joke lines.
You mentioned Norm etc. talking to randos. Sam was doing it too at the top of a scene. I fact, there were a lot of background actors acting up in this one, being noticeable etc. I found that a little weird (also, the inference that the bar closes at midnight), but I agree that this was one of the funniest episodes this season!
And Bus Stop? Marilyn Monroe also tried to change her fortunes by starring in an adaptation.
Love any caper where Sam is on the receiving end of it. Carla’s loyalties being so flexible is great. Another nice distinction between Rebecca and Diane is that Diane and Carla would VERY rarely be on the same page like these two can be.
My brother and I still quote “Oh. Oh golly.” to each other.
