  1. This does seem like it should have been the season opener. AND an HR violation. I don’t know if Rebecca only dating men who can help her career is brutally honest, or a sign of the times, but I’m sure if Diane still worked there, she would be telling Rebecca this is not proper while also doing something equivalent in her own life.

  2. “Nooooo sudden mooooovements.” is something my brother and I still quote to this day.

The reveal that Dennis is his father and their dynamic is an absolute highlight.

  3. And yeah the pivot back to status quo with Rebecca as sole manager and no longer also waiting tables almost immediately after the season premiere does cut down on the impact of the season premiere on a rewatch.

  4. With Rebecca saying she only wants to date a man who can help her career, It just occurred to me that dating Sam actually could have helped Rebecca’s career. Sam was still a local sports celebrity. His dating a Boston city councilwoman in season four was helpful to her politically. The guys at corporate always seem to like Sam as we have seen both with Evan Drake last season and the guy in the season seven opener. But I guess the show is more interesting with Rebecca resisting Sam for now.
