  1. Woody and Kelly episodes are always enjoyable. Jackie Swanson makes Kelly sweet and likable despite being a privileged rich girl. The character could come off as one-dimensional in the wrong hands. Woody’s Kelly song is iconic similar to Coach’s Albania song.

Before this rewatch of season seven I forgot that Kelly’s father works for the corporation that owns Cheers. It’s hard to imagine Mr. Gaines doing any real work. The family seems like extreme upper crust with inherited wealth, as we will see more in later seasons.

  2. My tolerance for privilege is so low, I just can’t with Kelly. Being SO privileged that she can’t even understand the concept of a job, no matter how “naive”, doesn’t make her an innocent like Woody, but rather thoughtless and (unwillingly perhaps) callous. I’m good with laughing at the rich people jokes, but in terms of having her as a viable love interest for Woody, nah man, nah.
