Bass and Siskoid turn on their televisions to watch the second season of Young Justice, as it adapts Invasion, and then it’s back to the long boxes for more Invasion Fallout, most especially Wonder Woman #27 and Princess Diana’s rematch with the Khunds!

I liked Young Justice, although sometimes I think they got lost in their own narrative. I prefer shows that advance a plotline, while still telling a fulfilling story per episode like JLU did. The Invasion season did feel like every DC event blended into one. I’m looking forward to Season 3 though. My son grew up on it, and he’s REALLY anticipating its return.
Fun show as always gents.
Chris
That was some great WW comic coverage. I wish you guys had a show dedicated to her adventures on this network.
Like you fellas, I’ve grown to be less a fan of adaptations. New adventures in new mediums. That’s my motto.
I love Wonder Woman, but I haven’t loved a lot of her comics, unfortunately.
Sadly, that’s the case with many of my favorite characters. Love them in concept but the execution is bad to mediocre.
I’d forgotten about that Swamp Thing followup. (The one I mentioned way earlier was a few issues later, in which we saw the impact of the alien war dead on the afterlife) Interesting.
Looking forward to the next incarnation of this podcast. (Suggestion: spend an episode covering the entire run of Valor (up to the start of DOA, which is where Zero Hour coverage ought to start properly) to bridge the two crossovers…)
Don’t worry, we’ll get to that one too.
As for Valor, well, that’s a bit much even if I did sort of have to do that for his Who’s Who entry on the Legion of Super-Bloggers. And then, is it in the Invasion feed or the Zero Hour feed, or trapped in the FW Presents feed? I will consider it though cuz it’s a good idea.
Another fun episode gents.
I feel sad this show is ending.
Another great episode, gentlemen. I would like to echo your recommendation for Teen Titans Go! To the Movies. I took my daughter to see it, and we had a blast. A highlight for her was chase scene between Batman and the Titans through the WB studio lot. I loved all the little cameos and Easter eggs, especially the running gag with the Challengers of the Unknown.
I did watch and enjoy the first season of Young Justice, but missed season 2 and the Invasion story line. I really need to watch that series with my daughter, since she’s become a big Miss Martian fan, thanks to DC Superhero Girls.
Finally, I’m looking forward to your coverage of Zero Hour. That was my first big DC crossover event, and it holds a special place in my heart.
The Manhunter story was probably done as an excuse to let Doug (Dynamo Joe) Rice draw mecha again.
Probably? Assuredly!
I enjoyed both seasons of YJ very much. Season 1 sold me with the team fighting Amazo, and “angry” Superboy using his head to win the fight. Season 2 hooked me with Blue Beetle in ep 1. He, Robin, and Lagoon Boy are given the Gamma Squad assignment, LB laments Gamma never sees any action and BB says “Me, I’m fine with that. Yes I am. Yes I am! YES! I AM!” Arguing with the unheard voice from his suit. Love love love!
As for the Invasion angle of YJ S2, definitely inspired by lots of crossovers (they’re so tough on Flashes) but still made these stories their own. They did well on using the “good” stuff, that’s for sure.
How much has this version of Cheetah carried on in today’s comics? What little I’ve seen of her focuses on her were-cat self. Does she get any chance to show her brains, or is she just a physical threat? I do hope there will be a balance in the movie.
I thought about that issue of X-Men, I hoped it would be covered, but I would have understood if not. And yet, you’re doing it! Oh, that made me happier than it should!
Now a question: Did Hawk & Dove #1 (ongoing) get a mention in an episode? Just because it has a cover of H&D in the Invasion complete with Khunds, and a flashback to it in the comic. I probably heard it and have forgotten by now.
All that post-post-Invasion stuff will be covered in our final episode. Hopefully we won’t miss any.
Excellent!
I wondered if you would cover that X-Men issue. Glad to see it’s next up. I’m so curious to see how much you guys love the art!
I think you’ll find us fair-minded.
We usually are, unless it’s the Outsiders (me) or Hawkman (Bass).
