My daughter introduced me to this song a year or two ago, after she learned it in school. She got a big kick out of it, especially the part about the glue. Personally, I get a big kick out of picturing the Xum Crew gathered around a karaoke machine, singing this song.
I’d never heard “The Duck Song (Got any Grapes)” before this podcast, and assumed it was something like a Shel Silverstein oddity. I’ve since listened to your version a few more times. It’s quite fun, and vastly superior to the original recording. You should put it up on YouTube. I think you could get at least a half-million views with your version.
