  1. Throughout my childhood and teenage years, I was a big fan of giant mecha: Robotech, Voltron, Gundam, Evangelion, Escaflowne and even Battletech to list a few. So, I was feeling the nostalgia as I listened to this episode.

It sounds like you guys were firing on all cylinders at this point in the campaign. I particularly enjoyed hearing about the creative ways in which players were incorporating elements from earlier characters into their most recent versions and their mecha. Also, I’m glad to hear that you were able to wrap up the Shiftworld campaign. It sounds like everyone appreciated the closure.

Finally, I enjoyed your advice about dice rolling. There is something visceral about rolling dice, and a well-timed dice roll is an easy way to interject some tension into a game. As an aside, I think a failed dice roll has the potential to be more fun than a successful one. Responding to a failure (assuming it didn’t result in a TPK) can encourage creativity in the players, and lead to some great roleplay moments.

    Thanks for another incredible episode.
