    1. It was a HeroClix figure. I didn’t check if it got broken. Art-Girl picked it up and didn’t say it was.

  1. I’m surprised no one mentioned Black Cat has one boob bigger than the other. I love Kerry Gamill’s art, but that has always bothered me.

I’m glad you guys brought up the kinky masked sex angle of Spidey and Felicia. Reading those Spectacular Spider-Man issues at age 9 or 10, where it was heavily implied they were having costumed sex was kind of shocking. I felt like I was getting dirty stuff in my comics … and I was!

Siskoid, if you’d reminded the girls of Black Bolts connections to the Alpha Primitives (read: slave labor), I bet they would have changed their opinion on his hotness.

Great episode as always Ladies and gent. Go Team Goat!!!

    Chris

    1. Black Cat and Spider-Man did Watchmen before Watchmen did Watchmen. Truth!

I did mention the Alpha Primitives (they’re in the pics), but since the modern Inhumans freed the slaves and stopped cloning them, I would think Black Bolt is more Lincoln than Jefferson.

      1. You were also talking carcinogenic superheroes, so a very Watchmen week.

And the thing that would have turned them against Black Bolt was noticing the ‘real name’ entry…

    2. Hate to break it to you Chris. But unless they’ve been augmented, all women have one boob bigger than the other. Also… all guys have one ball bigger than another. If we’re going to talk uneven busts, let’s talk uneven bulges too.

I kid, you’re Team Goat so it’s all ok.

  2. I wonder how many weeks you’ll be spending on ‘Black _____’, and what the reaction will be that they’ll be followed up immediately by all of the Blues… (Although I thing Marvel has a lot fewer Blues than DC at least.)

  3. This seems like the most universally hot pages you have reviewed together. Not a bad looking one in the bunch.

The Danvers’ story is so weird. This must have been after the horrible Avengers #200 storyline where she is mind controlled to give birth to the guy who loves her (trying to summarize that clunker is tough!). I didn’t mind Binary as it gave Carol a new purpose but like her much more as Ms./Captain Marvel.

As for Black Cat, I always found Peter’s sad sack personality difficult to understand when beautiful women always seemed to be throwing themselves at him. That said, I did feel for him when Felicia spurned him because of his ‘ordinary’ life under the mask, his normal apartment, his generic looks. It made her feel pretty superficial. And don’t get me started on the terrible reboot Kevin Smith did to her origin.

    1. Binary comes out of the Brood Saga. Chris Claremont is bringing Danvers back from the character assassination she had suffered from in that horrible story. She also gets a scene where she calls her “friends” on their bullshit.

  4. I’m surprised Binary got as much love as she got. That design just hurts my eyes to look at (or maybe that’s the sun/hair/halo thing blinding me.) Though, to be fair, it may be partly because I like EVERY other costume the character has ever had better than that one. Yes even the one with the stupid midriff belly button displaying hole in the middle. The ladies are also totally spot on with the height/weight discrepancy. It’s so out of whack in this case as to potentially be harmful in terms of the expectations of a “healthy” body it can create in young readers. Not that I’m blaming a generation of body dysphoria on this one entry… actually yeah, let’s just do that because it’s easier than tackling systemic societal problems.

As for the others… I’ll take Black Cat to steal her outfit, and you can keep the rest. #whitehairhotties

  5. I was really put off that you didn’t read my feedback for the previous episode this time, until I went back and saw that I never left any! Not sure how I let that happen, since I listen to this show as soon as it appears.

I really thought Black Bolt’s “strong silent type” thing would score an immediate Hot rating, but the girls were only so-so on him. We need to get to another Inhuman so we have an apple-to-apple comparison. Maybe Gorgon’s hooves will set their hearts a-flutter.

    Love this show!

  6. I suspect the girls didn’t go for Black Bolt cos John Byrne draws him so fat… husky, as they say in the US. He can be quite Hot, he looks good without the mask. And just think what Medusa could do with that hair (hmm, imagine stretchy-haired Medusa bonking stretchy-everything Mr Fantastic… or don’t).

I’m with Vera, that Binary costume is just hideous. Thank God Carol zoomed off into the far reaches of space as soon as she donned it … actually, ‘donned’ is wrong, there’s no costume, it’s all her, probably via unstable molecules. Anyway, the triangles, the sunbeam hair – yeesh. Not.

Black Cat’s body suit is pleasingly form fitting, but the hairy bits, no ta, she looks like a drag queen.

Normally I’m all for men in loincloths, but that pink shade they dumped on Black Crow is just hideous – I can’t imagine what Frank will say. And those weird white stripes. And the mask. He could be Hot, but he’s really Not.

  7. I love the show- thanks.

Funny moment listening to a woman with a heavy French-Canadien accent say Yolo.
    hahaha- I mean…
