oHOTmu or NOT Ep.2: A.I.M. to American Eagle

Part of the Fire & Water Podcast Network, oHOTmu or NOT? is half indexing exercise à la Who's Who Podcast, half ridiculous datability arguments about the Marvel Universe's characters as inventoried in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe (OHOTMU) Deluxe Edition. It may not be the Marvel Universe podcast you were looking for, but it may just be the one you won't believe you did without.

Featuring permanent panelists Elyse (Havana Nights), Isabel (Lip-Bomb), Nathalie (DJ Nath), Josée (Art-Girl), and Shotgun, and special guest-star Amélie from the MeliUltraviolet YouTube channel.

  1. Once more, a thoroughly enjoyable episode!

I can’t believe Alpha Flight’s entry was just a collection of head shots. No grand team shot? It’s going to take some getting used to this new format after more than thirty episodes of Who’s Who.

    1. OHOTMU is just kind of…sterile compared to Who’s Who. When you get to their loose-leaf version, hoo boy. Is that a snooze-fest.

Interesting that the ladies point out the sterotypical nature of both Alpha Flight and American Eagle. It should be obvious to me, but as a comic reader, I just kind of learn to take that stuff in stride. It’s an eye-opener to how insulated comic fandom is with such things.

      Fun show as always!

      Chris

  2. I KNEW the girls would vote “hot” on American Eagle. I have disproportionate love of the character ever since I bought the MARVEL TWO IN ONE ANNUAL with him in it off the newsstand during our family vacation.

Am I the only one who wants to see this team tackle WHO’S WHO after OHOTMU is done? Considering how many times Shag and I have mooned over the women in that series, it would be fun to hear the “other side.”

  3. This show is a fun geeky bite that fits in great between catching up on longer podcasts. It’s great how much fun everyone is having and I look forward to the next entry.

I like how Siskoid glossed over that the Inhumans are generally considered to be “good guys” when talking about the Alpha Primitives. I suppose he didn’t want to color their opinion of the Inhumans when that entry comes up and is hoping they won’t remember by then.
