I’ve always loved the Ant-Man character, based in large part on his costume and his classic helmet. I figured there would be a bunch of bandwagon jumpers after the movie last year. You can’t imagine how thrilled I was to hear the ladies validate my fondness for the character in ways that were not–entirely–based on the movie.
I loved them swooning over the possibilities of the shrinking power.
“Comics are weeeeird.” — There’s a wisdom in this show.
I really thought Arabian Knight would be a slam dunk, but I guess I don’t know women very well (cue sarcastic surprise from my gf). Good to know that some of the girls would be willing to go on a date with AK just for the magic carpet ride. Proves, as always, chicks dig guys with cool rides. *sigh*
This epsidoe also proves, not that we needed any further evidence, that everyone loves Paul Rudd.
One of my favorite characters in the Marvel Universe is Annihilus. He’s all sorts of crazy! So I was looking forward to hearing what the verdict was, not that I didn’t have a good idea. Poor guy. Even a Cosmic Control Rod can’t get him some lovin’.
I never quite understood the character of Aquarian. Glad I am not the only one.
I love how praise is heaped upon Rob during the feedback for his part in the WHO’S WHO PODCAST on our network. Yup, Rob sure does a great job on that show! Yup, both him and Chris Franklin are integral to the network! Yup! And what you said about that Shag guy and the network… oh wait… never mind..
Another great episode! Lots of laughs! However, I have to call you out. If I recall from previous episodes, you had discussions on Alpha Flight and American Eagle reinforcing cultural stereotypes. So I was all ready for the discussion on the cultural stereotyping around Arabian Knight. And we got songs from Aladdin. Ha!
And the Annihilus segment was hilarious! I was genuinely laughing out loud!!
Sincerely,
The Irredeemable Shag

My feeling, when it comes to this group, is that Disney trumps any and all other concerns.
(We’ll see what they say next Femail Bag)
Using humor to disarm… hmmm… where have I seen Siskoid employ this tactic elsewhere recently? 😉
Dare I answer: Everywhere.
It’s my shtick.
As an integral part of the network, I thought I would weigh in.
Great episode! And yes, everyone loves Paul Rudd. Nice to hear the ladies dug the Ant-Man movie. Such a fun flick. That goodwill obviously carried over to their evaluation of the comic Scott Lang, but didn’t completely make the decision for them, just going to show they take their hilarious work seriously.
Aquarian is a hot mess of a Superman/Jesus hybrid, and would be perfect fodder for Zack Snyder, who is over-obsessed with such analogies.
Loved the Aladdin bits! As for “Age of Aquarius”, had you pulled a clip from the end of the 40 Year-Old Virgin, you’d have gotten Paul Rudd joining the chorus on that song! Total symmetry!
I really love this show. Always gives me a good chuckle or two at work! Great job Siskoid and Ladies!
Chris
