  1. First of all, I think they completely rebuilt Perry’s Office in 1987 to be Captain Murphy’s office in th Lethal Weapon Movies. The Entire layout is identical!
    OK Ok OK!
So back when you covered Clark’s fight with Rocky, I said I had an issue with what happened.
For his entire life, Clark has had his powers. He was able to lift a truck that pa Kent needed a Jack to lift.
So for all that time, Clark never had to worry about getting hurt by anything that hit him. (If anything he had to worry about not breaking whatever hits him by just standing against it.
When Clark loses his powers, he’s at Rocky’s mercy because he has basically been left with the glassiest glass jaw in fight history!
Now, later on, Clark is Superman again and he shows up to fight the villains. And, despite being a 3 on 1 free for all, he’s holding his own!. Now, again, with his full powers, Superman can shrug off pretty much anything. Even a Nuke! So there’s no way any regular person can hurt a Kryptonian. Fellow kryptonian however CAN do as much damage to Superman as a Larger , stronger and more experienced fighter, like Rocky, can do to Clark.
Now, Non wasn’t an expert fighter. But we can presume that he’s done his fair Battle under Zod’s direction.
Now, Superman has never had to have a real fight in his life until he met Rocky as a de-powered Clark!
Despite this, Superman trounces the tar out of Non!
    Ok that’s my nitpick bit!
My BIGGESTt problem with this fight scene is that Superman’s knock-down, drag-out brawl with Non was underground!! COME ON!!! We see Clark getting bashed Bloody in full view, but now that no one’s face is getting bloodied. We can’t see Superman actually throw a single punch?!? We only Ever see the effects their brawl has on the people in the street above!

  2. “Would you care to step outside?” Is without a doubt one of the most iconic superhero silver screen moments.
I also agree with the quotes from the Marvel movies you guys mentioned.
I would also like to point out a great Superman line (even if it is from a movie that isn’t great).
When Superman delivers the line, “Well, I believe in truth, but I’m also a big fan of Justice.”
I got chills. I felt like I was FINALLY getting to see Superman in a movie once again.

  3. THE greatest moment in the golden age of comic-based movies!

And, like my brother Robert, I was big-time disappointed in finding the single greatest line in Superman movies missing from the Donner cut. I say, why bother if you don’t include it.

  4. It seems the moral of the story is — when you don’t know how to end a conversation, you can always just go: THEN DIE AS YOU DESERVE TO!, and chuck a wall or something at the other person.

  5. Wait! Wait! Was that why Clark got depowered? To fight Rocky? For him to learn humility? To face a superior opponent? So he’d be ready for this fight where he’s outnumbered, overpowered, outmaneuvered? Has that been the answer all along??? AUGH!!

Sorry, I’m ok now. That just came to me reading the feedback so far, and probably already discussed on the show. It’s tough being senile.

I love this scene so much! Today’s CGI scenes are hella cool and graphic, but the challenge of making this fight before that technology, simply amazing accomplishment. Still a joy to watch.
