Batman Family Reunion Finale!

Shawn and Paul shut down Gabriel’s Horn and the Wayne Family Gardens, but come join us for the last hurrah! We talk about our favorites from our 3-year Reunion party and hear about what you Bat-Cousins had to say about yours!

We are also bowing to listener demand, and announce the subject of our next show, coming later in 2025.

Thank you all for your support and for helping clean up after the raucous guests at the Reunion. We love our Bat-Cousins!

Paul and Shawn

  1. Congrats on a great run, guys–this was a great show from the outset and it only got better.

Thanks for the special shout out, Paul–who would have guessed that lunch at the diner would lead to all this?

Really looking forward to the SSOSV show, that was a bonkers series. May I suggest The Secret Society of Super Podcasters?

  2. Paul and Sean, thanks for this show. I came in very late to the Reunion so I haven’t been commenting, but it has always been a fun listen.

I will definitely be listening (and hopefully, commenting too) on the SSOV podcast. I’m looking at my trade paperback of the series right now and thinking “Funky Flashcast”? And it sounds like you may also be tackling the JLA/JSA crossover featuring the version led by Ultra-Humanite. That would be awesome!

  3. Well begun, well run, and well ended. Thanks for a reliable source of joy, and especially for letting me play along. I look forward to your next endeavors!

  4. Fantastic ending.

I’m looking forward to the Secret Society of Super Villains podcast. I had issue #5 growing up and would re-read it over and over. I had no idea who most of the characters were, but I didn’t care. Some of those panels are permanently etched into my memory.

It will be a fun ride to finally see every issue covered in detail.

I feel like I should be rooting for the villains!

  6. Congratulations fellas. You did an amazing job, launching nearly fully-formed and engaging with your audience in a way that is really rare and special. I will miss this show, but can’t wait to see where you both will go in future podcasting endeavors. I know they’ll be great!

      1. Deborah and Camille’s outfits for sure…

So will Garbriel’s Horn reopen for the very 70s SSOSV?

  8. Listening to your heartfelt comments at the end made me wonder “WHO IS CUTTING ALL THE ONIONS??????”

Also, when you started teasing what your next podcast would cover, my first thought was the 70’s Joker series. Then I briefly switched to the New Gods (thinking of Darkseid and his minions), before quickly realizing you were referring to the SSOSV. Well, third time’s the charm, I guess!

    1. That’s funny, Bradley, thanks for sharing. We weren’t really trying to fake anybody out, I promise! Hope you’ll join us at the new show!

  9. Way to stick the landing!

Thank you for saving part of my comments from the last episode for this one. I don’t think I could have written that again without tearing up (again).

I’m looking forward to hearing from you both in future podcasts.

  10. Well, this has been a week for finales! On Monday we had Superman and Lois, and now this.

Rob’s suggestion for a name is great. Or you could twist it to the Secret Podcast Of Super-Villains, but that makes it sound like you don’t want people to find out and makes you seem not-so-nice.

That episode rundown sounded like you were writing new lyrics for Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start The Fire”.

Guys, I agree with Paul Wildenberger when he said you built a family out of all us Bat-cousins. This has been a fun and crazy trip down memory lane, and I can’t wait for the next ride. On that note, I’ll close with one more song … “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge.

    1. Thanks Matthew! We are proud of our chosen bat-family and are hoping to continue a “villainous” family going forward! Thanks for all your support – and songs!

  11. Sorry for being so late to the closing barbie, I’ve been at Gambi’s all week sorting out my costume for the upcoming SSoV show.

And yes, Patty Spivot WAS mentioned last time.

I echo my fellow Bat Cousins, Paul and Shawn, in being very grateful for all the hard work you both put in to bring us this wonderful show. Thank you for having me over a couple of times. If I had to do it all again, I wouldn’t change a single thing.

    1. Thanks Martin! That’s very kind of you to say! We appreciate your support of the show (and the whole network) and we really glad we got the chance to meet, even if just over zoom. Thanks!

    2. Martin –

      There’s no questioning in
      my heart
      When it comes to
      this pod
      I wouldn’t change a thing

      THANKS BUDDY! ❤️

  12. Bat Cousins –

Thank you one and all for being there for us each and every month.
Your appearances on the show, your comments here and on social media, and just the fact that you’ve listened to us mean so much to me.

People uniting as a community to express joy together
has come to mean so much to me in my years
and I can’t believe how lucky I am to be able to feel that over and over again.

I can’t wait to see all of you again at the next reunion!

    Thank you for everything!

    Shawn
