  1. My favorite episode is a while. Great Frasier bit. Great bar talk bit. And Sam and Diane’s reactions to his truth bomb are some of the most human, uncaricatured moments on the show!

  2. Another fun episode! Enjoyed discussion of neither Sam nor Diane wanting to “ease in” the other to their interests, instead trying to throw each other in at the deep end with the less-accessible elements of their passions, like Diane trying to get Sam to watch the most cerebral, lengthy, and difficult foreign films instead of starting him off with something he’d be more likely to enjoy. That actually got me thinking, what WOULD be a good movie to introduce Sam to world cinema? I’m thinking he might actually enjoy some of the French New Wave movies that still fell into the crime/gangster genres, like Godard’s Breathless, Truffaut’s Shoot the Piano Player, Louis Malle’s Elevator to the Gallows, or the works of Jean-Pierre Melville. I do remember that there was one episode where the gang was excited about watching The Magnificent Seven, and Diane started talking about how it was a remake of The Seven Samurai, so I imagine Diane would probably have been able to introduce Sam to Kurosawa…
