While I’m sure Cliff’s speech mentioned a little-known fact or two, it’s a shame we weren’t treated to Lucas’s speech. It must have been riveting. But as they established, the soiree wasn’t going to be televised, so there we are.
Great discussion this week. I usually watch the episode on Hulu before listening to your podcast for each episode, but I didn’t watch this one ahead of time because of the cringe factor of a Cliff-centric episode. But after listening to your podcast, you convinced me to watch it again, and it really is a funny episode. My favorite line is when Diane comes into the bar in her dress and Woody tells her, “Miss Chambers, can I tell you something? You look like a hundred bucks. No, what am I saying, two hundred.” Diane responds, “Woody, you’re turning my head,” and Woody then says, “Okay, one hundred.”
