The stealth joke (or pun, if you want to split hairs) in this one is the bit about TYING for employee of the month at the Yarn Barn.
Such a great line and delivery.
Regarding Frasier mysteriously going into that storage closet in the opening scene after the credits,, here are my theories: (1) As a former employee of the bar — he was briefly a janitor in season four — Frasier was allowed to use the closet to store his personal items? Or (2) maybe this was part of yet another dream of Diane about everyone going into the nonexistent wine cellar, just like in that Andy Andy episode? We can imagine that off-camera Diane fell asleep while writing for a TV show in California and then had this dream.
There is/was a Yarn Barn in Phillips, WI.
For an episode that felt to me like 2 B plots, it’s quite enjoyable. I do love the name Yarn Barn a lot, perhaps a precursor to Hobby Lobby.
