Bar Wars, nothing but Bar Wars
Good call on giving Al the employee of the week. Sadly I don’t think we’ll have him too much longer, and this is one of his best episodes. As far as I know it’s the only time we ever see him in a location away from Cheers.
It’s funny how we never learn for sure if that guy who said he was visiting his wife in the hospital was telling the truth or if he was working for Gary. I assume he was telling the truth and the Cheers gang was being paranoid, but the show never tells us that definitively.
So apparently Gary is really friends with Wade Boggs and got him to go to Cheers. So won’t Wade be mad at Gary for setting him up to be attacked by a mob haha?
I always get mixed up on which Gary actor is which, but I think the other one is my favorite. The other one seems more obnoxious as an adversary — I think he’s the one who does back flips in the basketball episode in season nine and also appeared on Seinfeld once.
A perfect episode, start to finish. Everyone gets moments to shine and it’s a fantastic premise. My home run would have to be Rebecca taking the business card and slowly crushing it as she growls “He’s mine!”
The poetry corner is up there with some of the best moments in the show. Love seeing them pull off a great scheme successfully,
