That’s a great point about how the subplot of Norm painting the office for Rebecca feels like a season-six episode. Rebecca is acting tough and competent like in season six, and Norm is focusing on painting like he was in that season. In fact, I think this actually happened in season six, i.e., Norm painted the office for Rebecca, so why are they painting it again only three years later? It’s a fun story for the B plot though.
I always like when they throw in a Diane reference. They spread the Diane jokes out just enough so that it’s always kind of a surprising throwback to hear her name mentioned. If they did it every episode, it wouldn’t be as special, so they were smart to do it only every so often.
