  1. Great discussion. I agree this episode flies by, even though it’s not the strongest season finale and the Elvis dream sequence seems kind of random. Ted Danson and Kelsey Grammar are definitely the MVPs.

The bond between Sam and Freddy in these last two episodes is interesting given that the adult Freddy in the recent Frasier revival series is more like Sam than Frasier in some ways. (I watched the first season of the revival series but dropped off in the second season, sort of how I watched the early years of the original Frasier series but not the later years, except when they had Cheers guest stars.)

Congrats on finishing season nine, and I’m looking forward to season ten! Even though the arc started by this episode about Sam and Rebecca trying to have a baby is not my favorite, there are still some very strong episodes in season ten, culminating in one of my all-time favorite episodes.

  2. Well I’ll have to say, I like *all* of your guest hosts, Ryan! You’ve gotten some fantastic people on the show this season. Kudos!

About Rebecca still wearing that dress even though the episode spanned at least 2 days, she did say it was her “lucky dress”, so that’s all the explanation the writers needed for bringing it back. But, it honestly feels a bit lazy of a bit, especially with how much of a fashion plate Rebecca normally is.

But it was worth rewatching this episode to see Tress MacNeille in person! Like you said, her voice is in everything! Such a talent!

Wow, 9 seasons done! Unless Norm picks up the pace, he’s going to have plenty of beers left on that painting ledger when the series finishes. But … maybe that would be a good thing. Congrats, Ryan!
