Always a fascinating discussion.
Coming soon, the Film and Water Golan/Globus Gala Part Ii?
This was a delightful discussion, thank you both.
I just love John Cassavetes movies. The first one I saw was Gloria when I was a kid, and I immediately loved the tone of it, how gritty it was and how it made me feel New York, where I sat on the couch, smell it even, I still have such a nostalgic love for that movie.
Then, many years later, I was finally able to see his other work, and that was for sure different from Gloria, but I truly loved how unique and challenging his movies were, that they demand something from us in the audience. I put off watching A Woman Under the Influence for the longest time, though, because I knew it would just break me, and broke me it did. I adore it, but man, does it hurt.
I really enjoy him as an actor too. He has such a fascinating face, handsome but with this undertone of danger, he always seem to be on the verge of something.
Just such a unique talent, with true passion.
