  1. Fun show, guys. Thanks for posting.

Ryan, good on you for picking my favorite Christmas song, “Santa Claus is Back in Town” by Elvis to feature in the podcast.

Like Ryan, my introduction (and only reading) of this story came from the treasury edition. That splash page looks like it was trying to ape Steranko. The story was a lot of fun. Marvel didn’t do a lot of Christmas tales back then, and Fury doesn’t really seem conducive to one.

I think the gallery post was the first time I’ve seen the cover in color. Unique, to say the least.

  2. I hope Gary Friedrich was paid a bagful of cash from the ‘Moonraker’ producers, as his plot from this comic seems to have been swiped almost wholesale for that movie!

  3. Ryan, if you want be on TREASURYCAST, just ask!

This is a really fun story, and I don’t think I ever noticed Hate Monger’s interesting list of targets.

  4. Awww, I’m too late for the contest. But I stink at acronyms. Nonetheless, here’s my ridiculous invalid entry.

It’s long gone thanks to the flood of ’81, but I think I had this Treasury. The Luke Cage story was really memorable. There can’t be that many Luke Cage Christmas stories, right?

Fun show, Ryan! 2019 = Year of Joy

  5. Ah the Hate-Monger. The original, a Hitler clone, first appeared in FF #21, which was reprinted in a beat-up Giant-Sized FF I got from a flea market or something. I loved that story. So far as I know this the same Hate-Monger. Accept no substitutes!
