I’m thankful for all of the time my twin daughters have gotten to spend together to connect & bond in a way they didn’t have a chance to in the first 12 months of their lives. With my one daughter spending most of the first year in the hospital 125 miles away from our house, the visits and bonding time they had together was pretty limited. Since we’ve all been at home, the two girls have gotten to bond a lot & it’s created a lot of laughs.
Family, friends, you guys… you know it! But what I’m especially thankful for this year is the imagination… comics, movies, TV and books have brightened many a dark day in 2020. There’s always joy to be found.
What first comes to mind is that I am extremely thankful for working from my home in Illinois after nearly three years of being stationed in Utah away from my wife and family. Granted, there were many weekends I was able to home, but the personal silver lining to Covid for me is working from home and being with family for over 4 months now.
I am also very thankful that my family have mostly avoided the virus. My wife, one daughter, and I all contracted it in late October, but we all recovered well. Fortunately, my other two daughters and their families have remained unscathed. My heart goes out to those not as lucky.
And of course, I am thankful for this network and all the hard work you put into your podcasts. And I know it takes immense effort as I take part in a comics related podcast myself. While I don’t know any of you personally, I feel like I do know you all in many ways. Your voices are as recognizable as my closest friends, I get most of your inside jokes, and your likes and dislikes in comics and other media are very familiar and relatable. You folks are quality bunch, and I thank you for everything you do. Lastly, I wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving and holiday season.
I’m thankful for the health of my friends and family. I can’t think of a single year where that’s been on my mind as much and, while it remains a huge concern, is worth celebrating that we’ve made it to the holidays this year. And on a less somber note, that we’re finally getting a WHO’S WHO omnibus!
I’m very thankful for my family’s health and being able to work from home during this crazy time. I would like to echo Mr. Atchison and say that I’m also very thankful for this network and all the work everyone does to put together all these great shows! That is a big reason why working from home has been a little bit easier. Listening to all the hosts discuss so many amazing topics (and the commentator community responding in kind) and finding the joy in all that they do is been amazing! Finding the joy can be very hard for people during this time so to hear the positivity and enjoyment of everyone talking about the things that really excite them is fantastic and I love it. I’m wishing everyone here good health and happy times and I hope everyone else can find their joy during this Thanksgiving!
I’m also thankful that Canadian Thanksgiving is in early October! How can you stand two giant turkey meals so close together?!?
We fetishize turkey and potatoes and stuffing to an absurd degree here in America. It’s not even really special or good food, but we convince ourselves it’s amazing. It’s really no wonder that half the country has been brainwashed by a TV game show host with a track record for lying and failing at everything.
You’ve never eaten Cindy’s turkey. It’s next level, and actually delicious. Mouth-watering.

I’m thankful for being able to spend more time with my wife and daughter, while I work from home. I’m also thankful for mindfulness meditation, tabletop RPG live streams, and this podcast network for helping me to maintain (some of) my sanity this year. And thank you, Ryan, for organizing this contest.
