Let’s Roll covers the END of Siskoid’s Shiftworld campaign using GURPS Swashbucklers and GURPS Deadlands, in this case, with his players Pout and Bébert joining him for one last discussion. And there was much rejoicing, probably. Plus, GameMaster Advice about how to quickly and efficiently craft large casts of Non-Player Characters!

Hold on. You really glossed over the fact that you had an NPC called “Yellowbeard”. Please tell me that he was played like Graham Chapman. 😀
I think I sort of played him as a kind of Chris Hemsworth.
On another note, thanks for the GM advice on the NPC traits. I’m pretty good at making mine memorable (the one guy I made so absent minded that he couldn’t finish a sentence, which REALLY annoyed one of the players), but I never gave a thought to the hidden traits they might have. Time to make a list of wacky stuff that can be used in multiple genres.
It was great to finally hear how the Shiftworld campaign wrapped up, though I’ll miss not having future episodes to look forward to. I particularly enjoyed learning about how you used the Deadlands module to callback to the original Old West setting, while providing the campaign a horror-themed plot twist near its end.
Like Gene, I also appreciated your advice on creating NPCs. Creating and playing NPCs is one of my least favorite parts of GMing. Fortunately, I only GM for my daughter, and she’s more into the action than the role playing, so that reduces some of the pressure when it comes to creating interesting NPCs.
Thanks for another amazing episode.
