Siskoid Cinema presents… No Escape from Kurt Russell, the show that explores the filmography of one of American cinema’s best leading men and tries to get a handle on his mystique. Why is it we’ll watch anything so long as Kurt Russell’s name is attached to the project? On this episode, Siskoid and oHOTmu OR NOT?’s DJ Nath discuss 2018’s The Christmas Chronicles. A kids’ Christmas movie, Siskoid? Yeah, but Kurt Russell is in it!

Y’all made this film sound very charming and very Kurt Russell (redundant?). Thanks for an enjoyable listen!
Fun episode about a fun movie. I will too admit I don’t care much for the elves, but there seems to be move toward not casting little people in these roles. That’s probably a good thing, but it also limits the number of roles available to actors of that stature, so I’m not sure how I feel about it. Maybe the forced perspective trickery of Elf (ala LOTR) is the best way to go.
Russell is without a doubt the coolest Santa Claus, and I do agree, this movie seemed to be made around him and his mystique, which makes it perfect for this show. I think after watching Red One, J.K. Simmons is the second coolest Santa, but he’s still miles behind Russell. Tim Allen ruined his Santa rep with those horrid sequel mini-series on Disney Plus. The second one is unwatchable, even by my very loose and forgiving holiday special/movie standards.
Fantastic episode! Watched this one with my daughter when it came out and we just loved it! Was thrilled to hear your positive response to the film. #joy
