Thanks for covering this book. Our daughter really enjoyed reading Wonder, so I’m guessing White Bird should be an easy sell for her. My wife and I are trying to raise her awareness of racial issues right now, but she’s in that wonderful preteen phase where every new idea we present to her is greeted with an eye roll and an exasperated “I already know about that.”
White Bird sounds and looks really interesting. I do have “Maus”, which is an excellent graphic novel but a challenge to get thru. I’m intrigued that White Bird could reach the current generation of young readers like my daughters. Research is definitely called for. Thanks for covering it!
From last episode, with all of the recommendations for other Weird Westerns, I realized I hadn’t pushed “Copperhead” again, with its great female lead and how it turns the gender roles around. I can’t recommend it enough.
Thanks for another great episode, my punchers!
