  1. I *Am* a fan of Van Damme (no joke, I even watch stuff he made in the last 15 years), but I did NOT like Street Fighter. Raul Julia is the one thing I like in that thing, so this all tracks.

Oh, and the footage from The Taming of the Shrew would have been from Kiss Me, Petruchio, a made for TV documentary on that production. IMDB page: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342642/

Great episode, great stories, great guest, great host.

  2. Another fine episode and another great guest. Has Morgan Richter appeared on the network before? I *know* I’ve heard her before and her nostalgia of 80s TV, and, specifically, Miami Vice. Aargh! This is going to drive me crazy – until I get distracted by someth–ooh! M*A*S*HCast just dropped!

    1. If you like a guest and are on the website, look at the bottom of the post where the tags are. If we did our job right, the guest’s name should be in the list Click it and it will take you to all their guest appearances. In this case, no, this was Morgan’s first appearance on the Network!

  3. Forgive if this off subject I’m not trying to be funny
You see September 29 is international silent movie this is the fourth maybe next year for the fifth year or you could do a fade on the last movie of some silent movie actor or director on the fade out show people would know about international silent movie as feel a lot people don’t know respect this form of cinema sorry for pestering this was the most recent movie post . And your the movie guy

  4. Great episode! I don’t recall much about Street Fighter, but I do recall thinking it felt like a G.I. Joe movie. And although I haven’t seen it in 30 years, it probably is still a better Joe movie than any of the actual G.I. Joe films.

I’m glad the 90s Addams Family films have kept their cultural cache. They really are very entertaining, well-made and well-acted films. They are just ghoulishly fun! A lot of that has to do with Julia’s incredibly charasimatic and energetic performance. And yes, I dig that he and Morticia actually like and love each other, despite years of marriage, kids, etc. I can relate!

I THINK Raul Julia replaced Frank Langella on Broadway as Dracula when Langella left to make the 1979 film. I would love to see a filmed version of his intepretation of Dracula! I was looking at his CV and saw where he played Dr. Frankenstein in Roger Corman’s Frankenstein Unbound! I had no idea!

Morgan was a great guest, and I’m definitely going to check out her 80s YouTube series. Sounds right up my alley!
