  1. I was a big fan of Silk in all her volumes. I liked Stacey Lee’s art and thought Tana Ford was also well-suited for the gig. I like the ‘teen hero learning the ropes’ trope in comics. I like that Silk has a bit of a dark backstory (locked away for years) that she is trying to overcome. So the whole book worked.

This is a great panel because it does have a sort of clockwise progression which leads you back to the left side of the page to then ‘drop down’ to the next set of panels. And Lee’s manga style works for the action and the character. Great discussion!

I like Silk enough to have brought a bunch of issues to cons to get signed including this very one – signed by cover artist Dave Johnson and Stacey Lee!

  2. Great episode. I always enjoy this podcast. I like the idea of the randomizer. It’s fun finding out what year and comic book you’ll be delving into, and then when you give some broader context to the panel as well.
