  1. This was a very charming episode and I’m happy that Rob clearly had so much fun doing this interview. But I’m disappointed you skipped your Halloween horror treasury slot in October this year. It’s the only time the that you cover horror treasuries and I look forward to it every year. Please consider slipping in an extra horror treasury in 2024.

    1. Hi Phil,

Not sure what you’re talking about, The show didn’t do a Halloween/horror treasury in 2019, 2021, or 2022, because there are none left to do.

      1. Oh seriously?! Sorry. That’s embarrassing. I guess my memory is going. I thought there were still a few horror left like that Tales From The Crypt treasury or the 30 Days Of Night treasury (and a few other IDW horror treasuries). Maybe I just missed those episodes, somehow..

  2. Great show and discussion, Uncle Rob and Auntie Shannon. I will pull Dad’s old CD burner out of storage and get a copy of that CD to you.

For everyone else, here is Auntie Shannon narrating Wonder Woman’s origin.

  3. What fun episode! I could practically hear you smiling during this podcast. Her voice is always in my head whenever I read a Wonder Woman comic. When you mentioned the voice talent on Super Friends, my mind jumped to the ubiquitous Casey Karen who seemed everywhere when I was a kid–Robin, Shaggy, and Commander Mark on Battle of the Planets. Not to mention his regular gig on American Top 40 on the radio and AT 10 on TV.

  4. Fantastic discussion Rob. It was great to hear from Miss Farnon (I can’t allow myself to call her Shannon). The fact that she was a Wonder Woman fan as a kid made me appreciate her performance all the better. When she was “replaced” during the Super Powers era, it really bothered me. One of the two actresses kinda sounded more like Carol Burnett than Wonder Woman to me!

She had some great insights into the character, and this book in particular.

Good on Isamu for arranging all this!

  5. Great Hera! The original Wonder Woman!

(I can only hear the words “Great Hera” in the voice of the inimitable Shannon Farnon)

  6. That’s awesome that you got the original wonder women on for this episode. The book it self sounds like wonderful story . And other wonder full episodes pun intended.

  7. Wow, what a great show. It’s amazing that you got Ms. Farnon (like Chris, it feels disrespectful to call her ‘Shannon’) to participate.
I particularly enjoyed hearing about her memories of doing the voiceover work back in the 1970s/1980s, and it’s especially nice to know that the entire crew got along so well.
    Great job, Rob!

  8. Rob, you’re a terrific interviewer. Ms. Farnon, you’re just plain WONDERful. I really appreciated your insights. Our dear nephew Isamu, please keep up the great work. Thank you all!

  9. I only just now listened to the episode and all I can say is “Bravo.” Shannon Faron’s voice is still unmistakable after all these years. I spent most of my childhood being captivated by the Super Friends” and to have her discussing Alex Ross’s great treasury was a real treat. Just a few weeks ago, we discussed Wonder Woman in my “Superheroes & Culture” course at BGSU. I will be providing a link to this episode to my students ASAP.

    Keep up the great work!

  10. Finally got to listen. Great job with interviewing Shannon. I was really impressed with her attitude towards Wonder Woman. I did not know the Xum connection so that was awesome to learn. Thanks for bringing this kind of material to the network Rob. Shows like this make me proud to be a small part of it.

  11. Amazing podcast, Rob! Thanks so much for bringing this to us. I’ve been very much feeling the 50th anniversary of Super Friends this year. It’s been on my mind a lot and I was super-glad to hear this episode with Shannon.

  12. Great show, Rob. The interview with Shannon Farnon was a perfect way to cover Alex Ross’s treasury. His depiction of Wonder Woman always struck me as the ultimate version of the Super Friends character brought to life. Growing up, I always visualized Wonder Woman as Linda Carter, but her voice was Shannon Farnon.
