  1. What a great new guest! Natalie was terrific, I hope she comes back next season.

Anthony Cistaro as Henri delivers a truly killer performance as the slimy and/or charming Henri. He reminds me of sleazy guys I knew in my youth, who women swooned over while bemoaning they just wanted to meet a “nice guy.” It made me want to throw myself off a cliff (no pun intended).

I think I’m going to start incorporating “…before the incident” into my life to see if it gets me out of stuff I don’t really want to do. I’ll report back.

  2. Great discussion and guest! My schooling history during the run of Cheers actually matches up similar to Natalie’s. I was in eighth grade during the first season and was in law school when the series ended, although I didn’t start watching it in real time until the eighth season when I was a junior in college. I can remember these last two episodes of season nine airing right before my college graduation.

I like this episode a lot. Episodes with Woody, Kelly, and Henri are always entertaining.

The scenes of Sam and Freddy at the apartment almost feel like they could be a backdoor pilot for a spinoff show like one of those late 80s or early 90s sitcoms in which there’s one or more guys helping to raise kids, like Full House. The fact that these scenes are in a part of the apartment we never saw before or after this adds to the feeling of it being a unique episode that almost seems like a backdoor pilot.

    1. Considering the show was leading into a story where Sam and Rebecca could be parents, maybe that’s exactly what this episode was: a test run for that type of child-raising sitcom.
